Stefan Hepner / Studio is an outpost for a one-of-a-kind design, experiments with modern materials and traditional techniques, with attention to detail, functionality, and aesthetic value of created pieces.
Stefan Hepner was born in Poland where he studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, then in Warsaw, specializing in poster design at the workshop of Henryk Tomaszewski, the father of the postwar Polish poster. He continued his studies at the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques in Paris, France with renowned graphic designer Roman Cieslewicz. He started his professional career as an illustrator for major press magazines and advertising agencies. In the late 80′s he discovers the Apple computer and becomes one of the pioneers of digital illustration in France, then begins research in the burgeoning at the time multimedia domain. Creates a number of websites and CD-Roms where he explores the possibilities of the new media. In 1998 moves to New York and works as Art Director for several web design and consulting agencies as well as freelance web designer and consultant. Meantime acquires extensive experience of different technologies used in antique and modern furniture and starts to work on product and furniture design. Currently works in his studio on combining traditional techniques with computer technology in art and design.
